Smoking Ban's are bad for Everybody

Good afternoon,

Welcome to my very first blog. I decided to start blogging because like so many before me I have much to get off my chest. With that said let's dive into today's rant du jour.

I live and work in Pennsylvania and just yesterday my beloved state took one step toward communism and enacted a state wide smoking ban. Even when this same ban took place right next door to us in New Jersey I like so many others in PA felt comfortable that, well, it couldn't happen here. I mean sure Philadelphia has a city wide smoking ban but I gave up on Philly's city government long ago. Even though I still live there I think the only way to fix things there would be to push the whole damn city into the Delaware river and let it slide right out to the Atlantic ocean and sink straight to the bottom, but I digress. My rants on Philly's problems could take on the form of a novel and I'm here to bitch about an unconstitutional smoking ban. Do you think I woke up yesterday morning and said I think I'll give away some of my freedom today? Well, whether or not I wanted to that's exactly what happened and I didn't even have a say in the matter. I have come to believe that it is the democratic party and anyone else to the left of center in politics that is to blame. Don't get me wrong as a conservative I do still hold some liberal view points. I won't get into them here let's just concede that I have them and I believe in them as strongly as my conservative views. Sorry back to the smoking ban. I keep going off on these tangents. Did you know that it has never been conclusively decided within the scientific community how much damage second hand smoke actually does to non smokers or that it does any at all? It is a very hotly debated topic among researchers working on the subject. As for the research. Do you know how the proponents of "Dangerous Second Hand Smoke" get their findings? Well they manufacture them of course. See they use these rats and they stick them in these little boxes and well they pump the boxes full of enough smoke to choke a herd of elephants and watch as the rat dies slowly over the next few days. Then they disect the rat and find black lungs. (Another tangent coming) This is also how they test 80% of everything else. They pump absurd amounts of whatever they're testing into a lab rat and watch him die. You know what? Enough of anything will kill you. Water's good for you, Right? Did you know that if you drink more than 3 gallons of water in less than 10 minutes (give or take body size and over all health) that it will kill you. Holy shit water must be bad for you let's freaking BAN it. Ah, but drinking water doesn't offend the liberal elite and thus shall never be banned.

You know what? Just make cigarettes illegal. I would be fine with that at leaset that is within the realm of what a government is aloud to do. It can not and must not ever be in the banning business because that feels a little to marxist for me.

This brings me back to my topic why the smoking ban's are bad for everybody. When we start letting government this far into our daily lives, the further in they come the harder it is to get rid of them. Like an unwanted guest they will never go away. It's starts with smoking. Why? because smoking's bad so it must be banned. Wait so is Alcahol, BAN IT! So is fast food, BAN IT! So are guns, BAN THEM! It will never end until government has complete control. Then it will be too late. Any liberal reading this now and cursing me will think back to this day. Back to a time when we all still had some choices.

Good night and God Bless America.
